The 35-45 year old nebbiolo vines for this wine come from the eight-hectare Campè vineyard in Grinzane Cavour. Intensely hued, this gem-colored wine is warm and rich with the elegance of nebbiolo: tar, roses, ripe red fruits and spice. The new French oak is well-integrated, giving the palate a round, yet distinctly powerful mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish. This wine may still benefit from some decanting and should drink beautifully for the next 20-30 years.
