Sumac Ridge Merlot Cabernet Cellar Selection
2005 Merlot Cabernet
VQA Okanagan Valley
Harvest
2005 was a hot vintage with great ripeness. The grapes for this wine werer harvested under 4 tons per acre and as a result of low yeilds this vintage shows great fruit intensity.
Winemaking
A blend of 60% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc, this wine underwent full malolactic fermentation and was barrel aged for 12 months in both American and French oak.
Winemaker's Notes
Soft plum, blackberry and caramel on the nose. The palate starts off with a burst of fresh berry fruit and hits the mid palate with soft round tannins and leather. The finish is long and plentiful.
Food Pairings
Try this wine with BBQ'd Maui Ribs!
