The 2006 Virtuoso is a late-harvest Malbec made in an Amarone style. A saturated purple in color, it has an intense nose of Asian spice, black cherry, and black raspberry jam. On the palate, it is off-dry with good depth of flavor. The wine is balanced and has good length but who knows how it will evolve? Better to drink it near-term at the end of a meal with strongly-flavored cheeses.
