Nova Scotia's wine industry is small but growing rapidly. Many locally produced wines are drawing international recognition and are winning awards at national competitions such as the All Canadian Wine Championships and regional events such as the Atlantic Canadian Wine Awards. Although Nova Scotia is situated at one of the cooler climate limits for vines, these conditions have proved favorable for growing French hybrids such as L'Acadie Blanc and Marechal Foch. These two varieties in particular have become Nova Scotia's unofficial "signature" white and red wines and have proved to be very food-friendly wines. Premier Wines is very proud to introduce a selection of new releases from two local wineries which have recently opened  Annapolis Highland Vineyards located in Bear River officially opened their doors in June of 2009. Two of their wines immediately won medals at the Atlantic Canadian Wine Awards - Silver for their 2008 Pinot Grisand Bronze for their 2008 Dechaunac.Muir Murray Estate Winery opened in May of 2009 in the heart of the Annapolis Valley. They also experienced immediate success at the ACWA winning Gold for their 2008 Eagles Soar Baco Noir, Bronze for their 2008 Summer Song Rosé and 2008 Orchard View Marechal Foch.
With the addition of these two new wineries Premier Wines now boasts the largest selection of Nova Scotia wineries available anywhere. Our full line up includes wines from:
